Duke Nukem 3D (Brazilian Bootleg, Tec-Toy 1998)

描述
Duke Nukem 3D for Sega Mega Drive/Genesis is a little-known port of Duke Nukem 3D. It was released only in Brazil by local Sega distributor Tec Toy in 1998 and re-released in the whole world in 2015 by Piko Interactive.

It is a highly simplified version of the game, going so far as to only include a simplified version of the second episode, Lunar Apocalypse.

Rather than porting the level design from the original game, this version features original levels with a flat layout and 90-degree angles only (similar to Wolfenstein 3D). Textures, sprites, and sounds are largely ported from the PC version in greatly reduced quality. The game is considered to be very advanced for the Sega Genesis 16-bit console.

This isn't a bootleg. It was made by TecToy with the sub license and was approved by SEGA.

your statement is false. I own this game, in cartridge version, original for the Mega Drive, and I can say that it uses the six buttons of the mega drive control. However, there is an adaptation for use in 3-button controls that makes it possible for those who do not have the six-button controler to play too. making the start button serve as an activator for the others. If you don't believe what I'm saying, I ask you to access the game options menu, and look for the control information, within the game itself. The problem seems to be in the Sega emulator, which for this game (nothing primitive) recognizes it only as using a 3 button control.

@brunophilipevieira the game doesn't use the other 3 buttons, sadly. I uploaded it purely for the spectacle of such a primitive port of Duke 3D

The mod only recognizes the commands as if you have a 3-button controller. Which is really bad to use in game action moments.

As far as I know, this wasn't a bootleg. It was oficially licensed by Tec Toy to be ported to the Mega Drive.
