The 700T is a high-speed train belonging to the Taiwan High Speed Rail ( 台灣高鐵THSR ). It was designed from Japan's Shinkansen 700 Series and " T " stands for Taiwan's abbreviation.
The train was jointly developed by the Central Japan Railway ( JR-Central ) and West Japan Railway ( JR-West ) and built by three companies, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Nippon Sharyo, and Hitachi Ltd.
The 700T is also the first train to be exported overseas for the first time in the Shinkansen technology. It began operation on January 5, 2007.
