I will try to have a look tonight, to refresh myself with the game & see what your issue could be.
As I haven't played it in a long time. Though I don't think it's this asset, as you're the first with such problem.

Both, I've tired it on farmland area as well. An icon (cash and coins with in a red circle with a line threw it appears when they disapear)

The plants or the actual greenhouses? - They must be placed in territory specifically for farmland might be the answer..?
