The Single Occupant Exoatmospheric Insertion Vehicle (SOEIV), informally known as the drop pod or egg, is a class of Human Entry Vehicle used by the United Nations Space Command to deploy an individual from high orbit to the surface. Manufactured by Ushuaia Armory, SOEIVs are deployed from orbiting naval vessels and are launched at a particular target, often behind enemy lines. Upon entering a world's atmosphere, a SOEIV employs brakes to slow itself down just short of impact. SOEIVs are often operated by the UNSC Marine Corps' Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.

Instructions [Operator]:

01.) Open the SOEIV hatch using one of the buttons located on the sides of the drop pod. Then proceed to enter the seat inside.

02.) Upon entering the seat, close the hatch by pressing [1] on the toolbar. Proceed to activate the thrusters and the gyroscope by pressing [4] and [8] respectively. Then drop to your desired location.

03.) When entering the atmosphere, use your best judgement to slow down the drop pod. Activate the parachute when nearing the ground (recommend around 400 meters for parachute deployment) by pressing [5]. Use the breaking rockets to assist with braking by pressing [6].

04.) When landed, press [2] to detach the SOEIV hatch and push it out by pushing [1]. Ammunition and weapons can be found in the cargo containers located on the sides of the seat.

[1] - This drop pod is not automatic; you will have to do the braking sequence manually.
