Radiant Additional Base Buildings (OUTDATED, NEW VERSION IS OUT)

描述

This mod adds 3 additional buildings which will provide you more great work slots, governor titles, a first spy sooner and small realistic bonuses. Also edit Libraries and the 2 first Tier gouvernment plaza buildings to make them provide some useful great work slot.

Let's see what this mod do in detail :

---- Library Change ----

Adds 1 Great Work of Writing slot in each library built.

---- Government buildings Change ----

Adds 1 Great Work slot of any type in the 2 first TIER of government plaza which include :

- Ancestral Hall (TIER 1)
- Audience Chamber (TIER 1)
- Warlord's Throne (TIER 1)
- Foreign Ministry (TIER 2)
- Grand master's Chapel (TIER 2)
- Intelligence Agency (TIER 2)

---- New Building : Forum ----

If you decide to build it, it will provide you :

Production Cost : 250
Maintenance Cost : None
Civic availability : Code of Laws
Prereq building : Monument
District : City Center
+1 housing (Wink to Age of Empire's starting Forum).
+1 Gold per turn (Forum were historically the first known places of commerce) .
+1 Governor Title (Forum were also and even more the first place that saw politics be born).

---- New Building : Great City Square / Great City Square On Water ----

This new building is declined in 2 forms. The first one called "Great City Square" is built in Entertainment Complex district. The other "Great City Square On Water" is built in the Water Park district. They are strictly the same and brought the same bonuses.
If you decide to build it, it will provide you :

Production Cost : 280
Maintenance Cost : 2
Civic availability : Game & Recreation
Prereq building : None
District : Entertainment Complex (Any of them, included Brazil's)
+1 Amenity bonus.
+1 Tourism bonus. (that would be your earliest one from the starting ages)
+2 Culture per turn. (it makes sense, and it's reasonable)
+1 Great Work of Music slot. (that will make your earliest one from the starting ages)

---- New Building : Secret Council Hideout ----

This 3rd Building was extremly necessary in this game in my opinion. It symbolize the birth of Espionnage in this game. And my friends, i have to say Firaxis had it wrong. First thing : Realism. Espionnage have actually existed since a very long time, Suntzu for China, Rome empire for Europe (5th and 7th centuries) it helped greatly to build first empires and that fact shouldn't be ignored (quoted wikipedia in civiliopedia description). Second, espionnage system is not that bad in civilization game, only if you have a mod to set counterspy ops to at least 60 turns (i have a mod in my radiant set if you need that btw) you can even have real pleasure to play with it so ... why deprive ourselves of it ?

Be careful though ! If you want your first spy sooner badly ... you will have to brave the maluses it will lay upon your head ! Reasons ? Realism (was not cheap to lead spy ops at early ages) and fun (finally may be finally a reason to fear loyalty in this game ?) and no ! i don't think i was THAT nasty on these maluses.

If you decide to build it, it will provide you :

Production Cost : 400 (because free first spy included)
Maintenance Cost : 7 (lol yeah ... Friendly advise : check your economy before building it)
Civic availability : Political Philosophy
Prereq building : Tier1 Government Building (any of them)
District : Government District
+1 spy unit slot.
+1 free first spy. (with all the production cost you invested, i can give you that haha)
- 5 Loyalty malus in each city. (check also that before building it lol)

Even if they represent hundreds of working hours, I'm sharing my mods for free like most of mod creators. But deep down I'm really hoping you to do that little extra thing that would help me a lot : joining any of my pages (patreon, facebook, instagram). Just that really! Don't feel obliged to give something, with Patreon there is indeed a free option that grants you basic news/content and it will only take few seconds of your time. That being said I'm an artist irl and I sometimes struggle to put my personal projects on the saddle. Well thank you for the lesson in modding and learning. Very interesting. If I was younger I would have the time and probably the desire to learn and get involved, but I don't now.

It's a pity about modders not sharing assets. I figured they would. In general I have been really really impressed about how this community comes together and helps each other and the great group as a whole. Nice community.

@DeadWeatherDrums Yeah it has not new 3D asset. Beside few exceptions it's really rare my mods contain new models. I worked for around 5-6y in the game industry as a texturer (2D texture, sometime of 3d files) a field I love but I always had trouble with meshing 3D which is totally something else and you need to know that's another whole world to learn I don't have the will or the passion to do that since I find it boring. If I would start to learn the 3d part of civ6, that would take quite some free time and patience (everything i learned so far to mod civ 6 took me may be 8 full month of free time in total, imagine that). As for the borrow/share of the asset, mod creator have their pride (me aswell, even if im the generous type) and 95% of the time a good asset will remain exclusive. But above all, and again I don't have the motivation or the will to sacrifice my upcoming free time for that.

And, no, it does not have 3D art, but it is cool and worth investigating and/or giving feedback about, and, it was made just last month, so it's brand-spanking-new and still has that new car smell.

So, actually, he does have a new version of this mod, and it's cooler and creamier. Look for it with the same name but now with mint chocolate chips and sprinkles.

2 Questions:

1) The title says this is "Outdated, New Version Is Out" - does that mean there is another version of this mod out somewhere, and it is all up to date and the fuel tank is Full and the keys are in the ignition and that's the one I should use to impress my date? Or does this version right here work just fine, like the comments say? (Incidentally, the Forum Building....what happens when you use JNR's Theater Square Expansion mod and it has a Forum building as well?)

2) Does this have actual 3D art assets or no? I didn't see any in the visuals above (like on a map, hanging out somewhere, saying "The party is here.") but he says there actually are some. Si or no?

your mod has been translated into German and the translation is now part of the German translations for Civilization VI mods mod pack.
We would be more than happy if you could refer to the language translation in your mod description.

@Kimu at the very least they should give you some sort of payment (maybe a free upgrade or a free game of your choice) when they "borrow" your work.

Oh i understand, and i saw that they already stole some ideas from community mods (for instance Merrick's Sweden and Hungary), so I think we couldn't counter this (sad to see them stealing ideas from us than adding new content)

@Levalinou Thx. About what you said i know it's good intentions but you must realize making mods like this one cost me dozens of working, even for just a name and i don't have time. + you must know that firaxis did copy me on this (had conversation with one of their dev about another mod, they are looking at me and some other mod creator about their ideas), that's not fair i had the idea of that city square before they do and should i be the one doing extra work ? not fair and depressing. For now i lost motivation, may be later.
