The map is very performance intensive.
The jalopy is also very buggy. No matter how carefully you drive it probably will get stuck on something. There is nothing I can do about this because HL2's vehicle physics are just that ♥♥♥♥♥♥. For that reason the jalopy is completely optional. You can go on foot if you like.
Well I guess that's the curse of the sequel.
