Haze, a barbed finish that will do more than sting.


I wanted to create a simple looking mil-spec pattern. The XM is another weapon that is currently lacking a yellow weapon finish. Initially, I created the first draft of this skin using a collection of spray brushes I'd bought online but I felt I'd go to the extra effort of making my own spray paint brushes just to make sure this collection is entirely my own work.

The last image is a few pics of the process, just spraying some paper in a car park then taking pictures and converting those to PS brushes. It worked out pretty well.

The spray texture ended up being a lot more subtle than I had initially thought it would be. I found during the process it looked better with slightly different shades of yellow (rather than vastly different coloured paints) with the barbed wire cutting through the paintwork to the basecoat.
