Templates will only let you edit them if you haven't clicked "build". Once you edit the template you can save a local copy with ACE compatible crafting stations.
Hope this helps!
Well, thank you for finding these quirks. Let me know if you find anymore.
I am making a list of fixes when I make the ACE compatible versions. There are some ways that I can do things differently now which used to hang or not work so well but have since been fixed by updates.
Keep up the good work @Ghostwish
So, I went and placed my hearth on the second story of the building, right? Well, you know that small overhang of the upper roof, the one that creates a little 1 by 2 space between it and the outer wall? Yeah when I bought my practice swords from the caravan, they went under there and my hearthlings can't reach them.
So yeah don't put your hearth up there. ;)
My templates are not 100% compatible with ACE. I will update all of the blurbs on them now.
To successfully build this template in your game, when you place the template (but before you press build) delete the kiln and wheel using the eraser tool and put a new kiln and wheel (from ACE) in their place. The template will then complete.
The reason why is that when they changed the recipie for the Kiln and Wheel it changed the item's ID so your game can't find the objects and the potter can't create them anymore.
