The Union Interstate Luxury Transportation S / A UTIL was founded in 1950 and operated a bus line between Petropolis and Rio de Janeiro. In 1957 it began its expansion, brought the company Rio Lux, that made the connections Rio de Janeiro / Juiz de Fora and Juiz de Fora / Belo Horizonte. Instead of the Viação Continental and in May 1958, Viação Boa Vista was incorporated into its assets.

With an acquisition of these two companies are a commercial line linking Belo Horizonte to Barbacena and neighboring cities. In 1961, a company that receives a Rio de Janeiro / Belo Horizonte line. With the passage of time, new routes were implemented and several cities and regions of the states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo began to be attended by UTIL.

This was the beginning of the story, which is more than half a century old. An accounting firm of 185 road buses, employs 780 people and transports about 120,000 passengers monthly in its lines and interconnected cities of the states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The fleet travels monthly about 1.4 million miles. Since 2003, under the control of the Guanabara Group, which also operates as a company, Viação Normandia do Triângulo (Rio de Janeiro) and Expresso Guanabara (Fortaleza), an investment program in the renewal of the fleet.
