R-10 Fighter Support Corvette

The R-10 is a completely self-contained long distance transport corvette. Primarily designed to move atmospheric ships and cargo between planets and moons, and provide facilities for the maintenance and re-fuelling of docked fighters.

When used for military applications, the R-10 is extremely dangerous. It is somewhat of a miniature aircraft carrier, able to hold 3 interceptors either in the hangar or on roof mounted landing pads.

As a logistics vessel, the R-10 has a large glass cockpit to maximise visibility and cameras are mounted around the ship to improve awareness. The ship can operate without support, as it has all the components of a mobile base on-board to fully support attached ships.

If a settlement needs protection form aerial threats, or air superiority is lost during a battle, the deployment of an R-10 with its complement of fighters can resolve the issue effectively. It is sometimes referred to as the ‘flack bus’ by more aggressive pilots, as the ship has an array of Gatling weaponry to support fighters in the air and on the ground.

Although it was not explicitly designed for war, the ship is rugged enough to take an impressive beating.
Ion thrusters can be used to reduce fuel consumption when operating on moons.

Aside from use in industry, this ship make a great survival base and exploration ship.
