The Lost Legion

This is a W.I.P. battle and (later) campaign mod that adds Rome to Thrones of Britannia in the form of Legio IX Hispana. "Why", you ask? Because why not!

Legio IX Hispana disappeared from the historical record in 120 AD, caused by some supernatural phenomenon, re-appearing in 9th century Britain as if transported forward in time. Now, the legion marches to re-establish some semblance of Roman rule over Britannia. However, every casualty in battle is one that cannot be replaced, and the legion may be whittled down before they can complete their objective.

Right now this mod only adds a faction called Legio IX Hispana with 10 new units ported and modified from Total War: Rome II and Total War: ARENA to custom battles. There is a campaign feature planned, however, where the object will be to "liberate" settlements, "gifting" it to an AI faction while you focus on managing the legion and re-conquest. In the campaign, you will control a giant 30-40 stack of crack Roman troops, but with a catch: no replenishment. As such, you will slowly be whittled down battle after battle, making for a unique campaign experience.

If you're wondering why the units are so OP/expensive, it's because they're designed for my eventual campaign where they will be ultimately finite in number.

As this mod currently only consists of the custom battle portion, I am going to regularly update it. Here's what I plan on doing.

- Add the faction to the campaign, with unique faction mechanics.
- Balance pass on all custom units.
- New faction for the settlements that are occupied by Rome.
- New units for Legio IX Hispana.

Also, in the future I may use this mod as a base to create a Roman invasion of Britain mod.

This mod is probably compatible with most mods, except for those that edit unit abilities.
