There is only one outside connection in a corner of the map (it's a requirement for map publication). Use 81 Tiles mod to get full access to all areas. Create your own outside connections (e.g. ship routes) by using Unlimited Outside Connections mod. How about building an offshore wind farm in the beginning to generate electricity?

NO DETAIL

It's a raw basis for experienced builders who want to start their project from scratch, handling all the details themselves. I'm publishing the map at this point because I personally prefer to switch over from the map editor to in-game building (the map editor has its limitations). The screenshots only show what you could make out of it (inspiration). I made these builds when I was developing the map concept and theme.

GIMMICK

This map supports Tides mod - give it a try (it's a bit tricky because of the limitations of Tides mod).

Tides quite work if you do it like this:
Raise the sea level so that only the islands are visible (you'll need Extra Landscaping Tools mod to do this). Configure your Tides Mod options like this: After you raised the sea level, create a new reference point and mark it as the initial sea level high tide with a range of about 9 and a speed of 1.
