Masakatsu Funaki

Masaharu Funaki aka Masakatsu Funaki began his wrestling career in the NJPW Dojo circa 1985.

Funaki had a typical Young Lion run, even being sent on a learning Excursion to Europe and the UK. However when Akira Maeda left New Japan and formed UWF, Funaki followed.

By 1990 UWF had folded and Funaki signed with Yoshiaki Fujiwara's PWFG and remained there until 93 when he signed with the MMA promotion Pancrase.

Funaki would remain in MMA until returning to wrestling in 2008 when he appeared in ALL JAPAN. Eventually Funaki would even claim the Triple Crown Title, remaining with AJPW until 2013.

Funaki would leave AJPW during the WRESTLE-1 Split and remain in W1 until 2015 when he would go Freelance.

As a freelancer he would work RJPW, DRADITION, IGF and even DDT.
