Teksi 1Malaysia or TEKS1M was introduced as the new class, with emphasis on the first and last mile service level. Launched by YAB Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abd. Razak, TEKS1M uses new standard cars with a standard colour. On 30th April 2014, SPAD announced that all existing metered taxis must migrate into TEKS1M. This exercise is expected to be completed by 2025.
