Najaf Province, Iraq; 1245 Zulu

The third battle for Najaf was an exercise in brutal military efficiency versus the unyielding faith of the martyr. The battle continues to be waged this day, however at a slower and more erratic pace. Although the insurgency has been successfully routed from Najaf proper, the surrounding neighborhoods and districts still hold a very committed and dangerous force behind their stone walls and sun-baked huts.

A rare storm has appeared on the horizon, signaling the uncertainty of what is to come. A Stryker brigade has arrived at the newly built Combat Outpost Dakota. Elements of the "Soldiers of Heaven" cult have dug in and are awaiting their personal ticket to martyrdom.
