You can also try making a folder named "custom" within your "steam/steamapps/commons/dayofinfamy/doi" directory, then copy+paste the .vpk file from your "steam/steamapps/workshop/447820/[NUMBER]" directory there, where the "[NUMBER]" stands for the identification number of the mod that you want to get to work. Check the names of the individual .vpk files stored inside each mod folder to find out which is the one you need to fix.
Besides, publishing another mod that does exactly the same thing as that one would be an even more shameless display of plagiarism pretty redundant.
If you could make one for just the springfield that'd be sweet too. I don't really use the M1D as I never play co-op, but I use the Springfield all the time.
