6 Block Clover

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a clover-shaped airplane! This is the smallest plane I could build - only 6 blocks! It's also my first project using the new building tools.

But this plane isn't just small. It can also reach many surprising victories, including the Duke's Dear Freighters, The Frozen Path (the extremely windy zone), and many more that I show in the demo video.

How to fly

I included a brief tutorial in the demo video, but I'll write some notes here as well.

The only two buttons are for the engines: z and x. You'll usually be tapping these buttons to regulate the thrust.

Due to its power and aerodynamics, the plane naturally gains altitude very easily. With sustained thrust, it immediately jumps up, then levels off, then pitches up and starts to rise.

Keeping it at the leveling off speed gives you a steady altitude. You can then give more power to one engine or the other to steer, which gives you basic lateral movement. Going slower lets you slowly descend.

Alternating the engines to weave has an effect of pitching down the plane, and the wider the angles at which you oscillate, the stronger the nose-down effect is. You can use this to cancel out plane's tendency to pitch up at higher speed so you can go faster, or oscillate at wider angles for a fast descent.

With practice, you can get a feel for the way the plane responds, and perform more complex maneuvers.

How to taxi

When landed nose-up, you can tilt to nose-down with a short burst of thrust.

From there, you can drive along the ground to attack enemies, or get to position for the next take-off.

Getting back to nose-up can be done by thrusting one engine (turning), or by stopping forward motion.
