描述
New from the Muthos Engineering Consortium! The 'Omissa' fighter drone packs the punch of a compact forward scatter cannon onto a tiny, AI-controllable platform. Each set of 'Omissa' fighter drones comes with ten (10) VD-1W fighter drones and one (1) VD-1Q remote-controlled formation leader. The formation leader drone can be flown by AI or piloted remotely, and though it is unarmed, it carries equipment to relay complex commands to its formation in real time. Even when piloted remotely, the AI is capable of keeping the squadron in tight formation through complicated and daring maneuvers.

Why bother putting your best pilots in harm's way? With a drone squadron, everyone can be a formation leader from the comfort of their couch! Plus, as an added perk, the individual drones fold and fit nicely into a box for compact storage. In a hangar bay designed for 120 fighters, you could instead store 120 full 'Omissa' formations! That's 1,320 individual drones!

So, what are you waiting for? Get your full box-set 'Omissa' squadron today*!

*Batteries not included.

I had the idea for this at about 4AM and knew right then and there that I had to make it. The 'Omissa' Drone Squadron is exactly 200 blocks. The craft is named for Dolichovespula omissa, a species of parasitic yellow jacket, and the formation is meant to resemble a swarm. Despite the description's implications, Avorion handles this as a regular fighter blueprint - which means that, if it gets shot down, you'll have to recover your pilot. They seem like they don't have many issues docking with the MEC 'Vespa' carrier, in case you wish to use them together.

Screenshots (besides the auto-generated preview image) show fighters at true scale - when you use this blueprint to produce fighters, that's the level of detail you can expect from the final product.

This ship is intended for use as a fighter blueprint, as it lacks the critical ship components necessary for player control.

Suggested weapons: Chaingun, pulse cannon

The really long one directional thrusters need to be replaced with all surface ones and the engines need to be made into 0.6 x 0.6 cubes so it can move properly.

Off topic but i beg to differ, those salvagable ships drop some seriously tiny bits lol.

the game wont render anyting under .00001 i use this to hide stuff like lights and important blocks ( i dont think they have collision either)

Yeah, to get that many in there I had to keep the block count way down. I think they're like 16 each or something. I might try another one in a small delta formation - maybe 3 or 5 fighters, shooting for a little bit more detail.

Yeah i had tiny strips of metal, altho the more fighters the less detail and obviously only the one firing visual and engine visual.

Extremely tiny hologram edge blocks - when the blueprint gets made into a fighter, the game doesn't render them.

Hahaha. Very good! I had the same idea a few months ago but never got past the disign stage due to it not looking good enough.

How are the joined? holo or epicly small bits of metal?

Okay, I'll give it a shot ...
