XFA-27 Scarface

A plane for madmen.
⨴ Careful with the rockets, for they have a habit of slamming back into the plane when launched.


The XFA-27 is a high-level Ace Combat aircraft, and is often listed alongside aircraft such as the Wyvern and the Falken. Variable-geometry wings and high-power thrust vectoring engines are among the features that afford this fighter exceptional maneuverability and speed.

It was an experimental aircraft developed in haste by the Allied Forces during the Usean Coup d'Etat, intended as a final trump card in their effort to quell the rebellion. Its true capabilities - and origins - are veiled in secrecy.


This was the first plane I actually built from scratch. I was hardly a novice at the time (since I had already modified quite a few aircraft), but its age is... definitely showing.

I built this because back in the day, Shadé's XFA-27 was one of my favourite planes. One day, after the advent of skins, scaling, and all good things, I looked for an updated XFA-27 - and found nothing. This was an unacceptable state of things, and was to be rectified at once.

This plane is - so far - the only plane I have seen with automatic variable-geometry wings. It was a requirement of its construction.

The plane has received one major overhaul to the chassis, engines, wing joints, and wings. On release it had the rigidity of a wet noodle, which made it difficult to take around Shadé's maps. The most recent update changed the chassis a bit to further improve rigidity and armament.

Propulsion is supplied by propeller turbines; based off of work by CCCanyon, they were the most efficient engines for their size at the time. They formed the basis for the propeller turbines I use today, which are still largely unmatched.

It is truly a pity you cannot see through the cockpit floor.
