Follower: Kolmar the Barbarian

Kolmar is a Nord barbarian at the Bannered Mare inn in Whiterun. He's always ready for an adventure, so no quests or fees are needed to hire him. He will level with the player from 5 to maximum and can be married.

His default outfit is bandit furs[www.uesp.net], a circlet[www.uesp.net], and an Amulet of Talos[www.uesp.net]. His starting weapon is a steel greatsword[www.uesp.net]. He also carries a few random items, a small amount of food and drink, and about 20-50 gold. His NPC class is CombatBarbarian[www.uesp.net], and he prefers light armor and two-handed weapons. He is essential (so you can't kill him) and has a standard Nord male voice.

This mod has been cleaned with TES5Edit[www.nexusmods.com].

Click the Subscribe button, then run the game launcher. In the load order, put Kolmar after the mods that need to come first (or before followers), and before the mods that need to come last.

• Barbarian Loincloths (Nexus)[www.nexusmods.com] -- In my game, I usually give Kolmar the Fur Loincloth from this mod (shown in the later screenshots above).

• Lore Friendly Armor Pack (Nexus)[www.nexusmods.com], or its (much larger) successor, Immersive Armors (Nexus)[skyrim.nexusmods.com] -- I often use the Barbarian Armor set from these. The Barbarian Boots and Gauntlets (shown in the later screenshots above) go well with the Fur Loincloth that I mentioned.

• Cloaks of Skyrim (Nexus)[www.nexusmods.com] and Winter Is Coming (Nexus)[skyrim.nexusmods.com] -- Both add craftable cloaks, some of which look properly barbaric with the above.

• Greatsword sheaths and scabbards (Nexus)[www.nexusmods.com] -- Adds scabbards to many two-handed swords, including the Steel Greatsword that Kolmar uses (shown in the later screenshots above).

If you get the gray face bug on Kolmar, then try installing the loose files from the Nexus version[www.nexusmods.com] of this mod. Or use the gray face workaround[www.creationkit.com] in the Creation Kit.

• 2013-03-12 -- Kolmar is now friends with Vorstag (in Markarth) and an aquaintance of Uthgerd the Unbroken (in Whiterun). Vorstag should show up at the wedding (on Kolmar's side) if the player marries Kolmar, and Kolmar should show up (on Vorstag's side) if the player marries Vorstag.
