描述
The Story

Hidden deep in an obscure valley of Nehekara, a pyramid sits wedged upon rocky foundations, the name of its Tomb King long forgotten.

Those clever, or resilient enough to discover the pyramid's location can expect to find rooms of treasure unsullied by the corroding fingers of living greed, but the unwary may soon find that the pyramid isn't as derelict as they may have believed.

Braziers lit, tents strung and buildings decorated, the pyramid's interiors are designed to imitate the lost city that its Tomb King once shepherded. The actual city having long been surrendered to dust, skeletal servants maintain the Mortuary City with a sparse illusion of life at the commands of a Tomb King whose sanity is as absent as his domain. The glorious past of Nehekara is only sadly echoed by the pools of sand and the scattered market stands peddling jars of dust.

Even a wagonload of the treasure contained within is enough to make a man wealthy beyond measure, trinkets and artifacts untouched for thousands of years. But first, they must overcome the horrors within...

Gameplay

The Mortuary City is a map designed for multiplayer but works for single player as well. The Victory Point plaza doesn't do anything, it's just there to prevent the AI from turtling.

The main goal of the map was to provide multi-level gameplay outside of a siege context, while also being shareable in a multiplayer lobby without needing all players to have the map downloaded. The map reaches its potential as a 3v3 or 4v4 map. It isn't very large, so there isn't a huge amount of travel time needed for armies to meet, but this is compensated by its layout which allows and almost requires a player to creatively split up their army formations. Therefore, you don't have the problem some small maps have of being limited in gameplay.

The map includes mountable walls placed in various strategic locations around the battlefield, which players can use creatively, either to get a protected vantage point for their ranged units, to flank or to make escapes.

The map is entirely symmetrical and should play out like a settlement battle.

Man just to tell you that, i am not sure if this just happen to me or waht, whenever i change the battle type from siege or land battle the game will crash. Could you please check?

Awesome map man! Very nice use of an indoor and outdoor space, I really like how armies have to pass through corridors. It's such a cool map for taking spread out and layered engagements, which is always fun. Good use of symmetry as well. Also the AI actually walks into the middle and engages you which is really nice.

Wonderful writing and storytelling to lay out the feel for this awesome map. I truly tip my hat to all modders when it comes to this game's series. I grew up reading about all of the things we get to see now in game. Without the modding community, the game would not have the replay value or the depth that we get to experience with these custom maps. Thank you.

Glad you guys like it! I'll have to figure out if there's a good settlement for this map to fit, but that's certainly a possibility
