Weird I'm not getting that error. It's safe to ignore though it's just whining the version listed isn't very specific.
Those look like the errors from B18 that I fixed. Are you sure you had the right version enabled? Anyway here's a new link for 1.0 so it won't throw an error for the version number. If your using Fluffy's Mod Manager and you are still subscribed to this mod you need to click the folder icon when selecting the mod to switch to the local manual version.

My update should work fine still. The version number needs changing and that's it.

It's fine, I hope this is easier for you. Right click Rimworld in Steam and select Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files. That will open the game directory for you. Open the folder called mods, that is where you should put the main folder of any mods you manually download. Afterward enable the mod in the game as per normal.
