Any progress on getting the junction problem fixed and these tracks coming out of beta?

Yes! These are BETA tracks yet.

I'm super happy about seeing proper rails for trams, but I've noticed this asset doesn't work well with junctions, which is a shame. I hope this is an easy fix? I'd really love to use these more!

I think the elevated tram station tracks are possible.

That sounds wonderful! Just out of curiosity - will the station track be ground level only, or will it also be possible to use it for elevated tram stations? I've really been wanting to try having an elevated tram/light rail line.
