History of UBB

The UBB was founded on 21.12.1994 as a 100% subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG, the start of operations took place on 01.06.1995. In the following years the completely dilapidated railway network as well as the obsolete security technology were fundamentally redeveloped. So that the passengers only have to cover short distances to the trains of the UBB, several new breakpoints were established.

Since the summer of 2000, the trains of the UBB over Wolgaster ferry beyond the new large Peenebrücke in Wolgast to Züssow and since the end of 2002 to Stralsund and with one change to Barth. On 20 September 2008, after more than 10 years of preparation, the ceremonial opening of the new section Ahlbeck border - Świnoujście Centrum took place. Operator of this section is the subsidiary of UBB, UBB Polska. Thus UBB is present as a railway transport company on 152,48 km from Świnoujście Centrum via Zinnowitz, Wolgast, Züssow, Greifswald and Stralsund to Barth and from Zinnowitz to Peenemünde.

23 modern railcars of the 646 series invite you today for a relaxing trip with the UBB for bathing pleasure, city stroll, beach walk or museum visit. Or just enjoy the drive past nature reserves, lakes and other delights offered by nature.

I also like to read about the history of the companies as they were founded.

Wow what annoying in France do not describe the history of the companies. :steamsad:
They should put it is interesting and important.

In Brazil most bus companies put their story on the site.

Thanks for yor job. What I like with german companies : they tell us their story. It's also often in UK. In France we have lack of company history.
