Frederick Nickel was an architect that was fascinated with occultism and alternative realities. He designed buildings based on fantasy stories and ancient legends, these works would make him become worldwide famous because of how alien and distant his buildings looked like. One day while working late he was contacted by a mysterious man that wanted to make a deal with him, what he didn't know was that the man was a inter-dimensional demon that wanted him to design a city to his followers. He couldn't deny such a opportunity, he spend years working on his biggest master-piece.
After his job was done, he was rewarded with the Loki's Trident, that gave him his supernatural powers. With his new found powers he saw humanity as below him, instead of using his architecture knowledge to help people he decided to trick cities into building his disastrous inventions.
