Eternus City

描述
Eternus City AKA Sector 96 is a huge trade port station built on an asteroid filled with ships of all kinds who have come from all over the galaxy to trade. There are many landmarks to see including the Citadel, the centre of political influence in the system, the Geo Tunnels, an old mining tunnel that has become a museum of mining culture which also serves to link between the north and south sides of the Lower District.

Eternus City features several districts each with it's own function, it may be confusing to find where you're supposed to be so here's a guide:

Lower district: This is where all the entertainment and leisure facilities can be found including Club X, Cyber Zone Arcade, Mario's Pizzaria, New Moon Cinema and the Geo Tunnels. The Lower District is just opposite of the Industrial District and can be accessed from there through the door at the bottom of the central stairway. Through the Geo Tunnels is an underground residential area used by miners, though since the mines were abandoned, it has become a ghetto.

Upper district: The highest point of Eternus City and the more upmarket side of town is the location of the city's tallest building, Atom Towers, a hotel that features rooms that range from basic to luxurious, there's a park located outside the hotel as well as a fast food restaurant titled Galaxy Dog, there's also the Nebula Communications Building as well as the entrance to the space docks where the Behemoth is docked.

Skyway: This is where all the buisnesses and tower blocks can be found, there is also a bar there as well as a department store with a cafe upstairs, the skyway tunnels give you a cool view of outer space. To get there, go up the stairs in the central stairway and heading up the stairs on the right. The Skyway can also be accessed from the north eastern stairway and the Infirmary. The Skyway is split between an east, west and central section.

Industrial District: This exterior location is where cargo is transported for distribution and vice versa. The most iconic facility here is Magnus Inc (credit goes to Magnus for making the hangar for me). Just look for the big blue building and you're there.

Governmental District: This is where the Citadel is, it is also close to the Infirmary and the Control tower. To get there, go up the stairs in the central stairway and head left through the door and through the glass passage.

Commercial District + Northeast Dock: There are three small buildings here which serve as places of trade as well as market stalls, up the vertical passage is the Space dock where the Behemoth is docked.

Residential District (East & West): A Surburbia located on the north side of the city with great views of outer space and a small park area around the back

Military District: This can be accessed on the southern side of the skyway in the Upper District, there's a command tower and a storage depot as well as a small ship docked there.



Aside from that there are five other areas on the outskirts of the city:

Military Defense Outpost: this is in between Sector 95 and Sector 96, there is also an outpost concealed underneath the scrapyard. They are designed to intercept hostile ships trying to infiltrate the city, the many military defense walls help with this also.

Sector 95: A ruined station with a huge platform, seems to have been blown through space and was held in place by engineers to stop it from plowing into the city. Theres not much here but a control tower and a small empty hangar. There is a refiniary though.

Scrapyard: Just behind the thumbnail is the scrapyard where damaged ships beyond repair are recycled.

Private Residence: Just a house i designed on a small asteroid for fun.

Pirate Headquarters: This is where illegal goods are smuggled from other sectors, the pirates oppose the military but remain dormant hiding behind an asteroid north of the docks. The base is heavily fortified.

Motorway: The british version of an Interstate/Freeway circles around the city.

True but nice idea thou just the same.. Mind if I take over some cleanup reductions and reworks and post on my ws and also include your link for the due credit as well?

Yeah it is very taxing, that I am aware of, I have reached the point where I cannot add any more stuff.

This version removes a lot of excess stuff that was in the old version.

It is a bit messy in some areas for reasons you mentioned, ideas that never got fleshed out.

The goal of this was to improve the overall infrastructure so that everything can sorta connect between each area easier than having certain spots that go nowhere, hence the new additions.

It's what I would call a compromise for an unfinished idea.

But yeah I had to finish it at some point and it's pretty much finished now.

I have noticed some cool lighting aspects however this plays heavy on sim speed and frame rates. The neon's are a nice addition that were added. However the over all grid size on a single grid is a major issue waiting to happen. I have seen it way to many times grids of this size you will start phasing thru blocks sooner or later. Then block removal becomes a huge problem..

Pretty decent. Noticed a few changes here with certain things from the first one... But still pretty close.. I mean I noticed the same over use of blocks that don't really go to much of anything in certain areas i guess it was a concept of a idea back then not really sure on the thoughts of what the lower section was suppose to be the open area that uses the passageway to a lower section that is.... (Building with the yellow block trim work.)

Thanks I appreciate that, I'm not exactly finished with it though... doubt I ever will be lol. I'm waiting for more updates with more blocks added to improve it. It makes for a nice Sandbox area to test stuff, particularly cars since there are roads and ramped junctions.
