I forgot to say it the first time around: the smoothing is broken.

Did you use Blender? When importing SMD's with Blender you need to tick the checkbox that says "preserve smoothing". If you don't do that, the model turns into plastic.

It's not based off the Haenel MP28, it's based off the Lanchester Mk.I, which is a British copy of the Haenel MP28 and the basis of the sten gun.

That is to say, the sten gun is a skeletal version of this.
