RDSA Railgun

描述
Rotor Displacement Spring Action Railgun.

Vanilla Build. NO MODS Required.


NOTE: Updated scripts to properly handle multiple cannons on same station or ship. Meaning you can paste many of this blueprint onto the same grid and it will work properly.



How To Use

1) Hop into Cockpit on the rotating platform.
2) Aim at target using mouse (controlled by rotor turret script)
3) Press #1 to Fire. Automatic Reload.

Don't move cannon too much while firing, else projectile will hit the barrel.



Other Buttons

Button #3 - Projectile Projector
Button #4 - Welders
Button #9 - Aiming Camera
Button #2 - Disable "Share Inertia Tensor". Highly risky to fiddle with this while cannon is moving.

50 Metal Grids
17 Construction Components
2 Computers
1 Large Steel Tubes
6 Small Steel Tubes
2 Motors

(Cost of 1 Large Armor Block and 1 Merge Block)



WARNING: If you are thinking of removing the seemingly useless barrel, do so at your OWN RISK. This thing is NOTORIOUSLY HARD to tune till its working consistently and reliably. Each grid needs a certain mass and suspension, any alteration can Summon the Wrath of CLANG.

Maybe theres an update needed? Tried to use this railgun in creative and it doesnt work.. no turret moving, no shots being fired.. and half the cannon ist still porjected (if thats not intended :D )

Spring count may make the projectile fly backwards. its very unpredictable since this is working on a loophole in SE. need lots of testing even just adding 1 rotor

noticed in the latest update this is slightly less reliable in projectile speed.. perhaps another rotor spring might solve this?

yea ofc its not a huge rush i just really wanted to use this as the main gun on my flagship it beats the piss out of a gravity driven railgun

I have quickfix it during MP test branch but forgot the steps actually. Will need some time to get to this again.

is there anyway to allow this to work in survival or a way to edit the script to ignore it

This is a Keen specific exception. Probably a survival bug.
