Original Seven - Bentenmaru | 弁天丸（べんてんまる

The Bentenmaru is a pirate ship, one of the Original Seven that received Letters of Marque during the War of Independence. Its former captain was Gonzaemon Kato and its current captain is Renmei.

During an encounter with the Grand Cross, the Bentenmaru received considerable damage and needed repairing on arrival at the Black Pit.

While repairs were being made, the drifters helped Renmei to steal an Ion/Tachyon engine at the Nvoy Interspace shipyard "Altered Carbon" at Harlans world. The Bentenmaru was upgraded with this new mainengine in preparation for the upcoming battle between the pirates and the Grand Cross.
