The F-05b is a development of the lighter F-05a, with a heavier armament and armour. This variant fulfils the role of an assault fighter, designed to rip enemy ships from combat and even engage larger ships by targeting vital points. It is used in a similar fashion to the F-05a, primarily in defensive operations but can be reliably used in frontal assaults if required to do so.

The F-05b Buzzard is equipped with an oxygen production and storage systems, allowing it to remain independent for extended periods of time.
