Downtown Area District

描述
Adds a new late-game district called the Downtown Area district. Primary use is for visual city sprawl but adds some bonus yields for district adjacency and some bonus housing and amenities among other things.

Bonuses
  • +3 Housing
  • +2 Science if there is an adjacent Campus
  • +2 Faith if there is an adjacent Holy Site
  • +2 Gold if there is an adjacent Commercial Hub
  • +2 Production if there is an adjacent Industrial Zone
  • +2 Culture if there is an adjacent Theater
  • +2 Food if there is an adjacent Aqueduct
  • +1 Gold and Production if there is an adjacent Harbor
  • +2 Faith and +1 Science if there is an adjacent Lavra
  • +2 Production and +1 Gold if there is an adjacent Hansa
  • +2 Culture and +1 Faith if there is an adjacent Acropolis
  • +2 Food and +1 Culture if there is an adjacent Bath
  • +2 Gold and +1 Production if there is an adjacent Royal Navy Dockyard
  • +2 Amenities if there is an adjacent Entertainment Complex
  • +2 Air Slots if there is an adjacent Aerodrome

NOTICE - READ THIS
  • Because of game limitations and some ArtDef bugs, this district will NOT show up on any tile that is not right next to the City Center. Also, there may be the occasional glitch with it not appearing there either. I don't know what causes it or how to make it appear but I've been trying new things. In the mean time, enjoy!

Why does the district sometimes have only 2 or 3 buildings and it never goes up and it sometimes is full of buildings

I'm not making any additional changes to this *checks dates* 7 year old mod. Oh lord, that can't be right. I do not like that one bit.

Anyway, feel free to make changes to the mod to increase the housing or add modifiers for it to increase housing when next to a neighborhood. I won't be updating it so the code will be stable lol.

how about more house when next to each other and neighborhood. currently playing a tall and wide play but ran out of housing options

No way to make it count as a City Center for other districts without severely messing things up internally or getting into custom scripting that I'm not proficient in. The only option is a boolean check of City Center. Setting it to true and making it buildable is gamebreaking and outside the scope of the mod. And my brain.

I didn’t though of that ! As always, I haven't really thought about the development side of the thing. ^^ Anyway, I was thinking out loud, I personally prefer it to be unrestricted ! Thanks for your answer, and your mods ! =)

Base game, only the Aqueduct can be restricted to be adjacent to the City Center. I don't have the skills to do any fancy scripting or custom assets to create a workaround so this is my best implementation. It's also really old at this point and mostly for eye candy lol

It’s true that it’s sad for the soft limitation around the city center, I suppose it’s because of how the game handle cities, like why « city sprawling » act in a similar ways ?

Maybe could the district be technically restricted to the city center. Though, I suppose it’s better to let the user have that liberty.

Anyway, still a premium mod nonetheless ! I can't plan my cities without taking this district into account now ! lol It looks so great !
