[Fighter Blueprint] Vell-os Dart [Escape Velocity: Nova]

The standard "ship" of mid-ranking (T3) Vell-os telepaths, the Dart is actually a psychic projection formed around its pilot. Perfectly formed for hyperspace travel, the Dart slips through space at the will of its occupant using a sustained hyperspace field. This allows the Dart to perform inertialess maneuvers that conventional fighter designs could only dream of. The Vell-os pilot is able to attack using a concentrated beam of psionic energy called the "Flower of Spring." Higher ranking Vell-os (T2 or better) are able to create even more powerful projections, like the Arrow or Javelin. They can also command multiple Darts at once by splitting their consciousness.

Because Vell-os psionic ships are without equal in the known galaxy, the Federation's secretive and ruthless Bureau of Internal Investigations keeps a firm grip on any potential telepaths they discover. Should any slip through the Bureau's grasp, the Federation risks allowing its greatest weapon against the Aurorans to become an enemy it can't hope to contain.

This build of the Vell-os Dart is 199 blocks. I had some fun building it, both because it was a change of pace from my usual X/HW builds and because it's so alien-looking compared to the designs I'm used to doing. It took a couple of tries and material/color choices to get it right. I'm thrilled to say that just as it was in EV:Nova, the Dart is translucent. Equip it with beam weapons for maximum immersion.

Screenshots (besides the auto-generated preview image) show fighters at true scale - when you use this blueprint to produce fighters, that's the level of detail you can expect from the final product.

This ship is intended for use as a fighter blueprint, as it lacks the critical ship components necessary for player control.
