The SPUI is the gold standard for modern urban freeway access. The main benefit is the direction of several lanes such that they cross over other traffic much less frequently. In addition, several directions are able to proceed without passing through a light-regulated intersection, allowing for a good portion of traffic to flow continuously and clear the ramps.

For proper function, a Traffic Manager mod must be used to direct lanes as indicated. Timed traffic lights can make this interchange incredibly useful, with far higher throughput than a standard intersection.

Note: depending on terrain, there may be some clipping of the central avenue as it climbs to the bridge. This can be solved in most situations by converting the clipping portions to "Elevated Road" using Fine Road Tool / Fine Road Anarchy.
