Russia, the motherland. Home to the early Rus people, and populated ever since, Russia is a cruel, cold land - but rich with natural resources to exploit, if only you are willing! Can you conquer the coldest country on Earth?

This map is as accurate as possible, placing the right resources in the right approximate locations in an effort to give the player a unique - and more true-to-life - Civilization experience. Dominate the rich forests of European Russia or extend your reach in to the inhospitable, but mineral rich, Siberian plains. Build your own Trans-Siberian Railway and reach the warm port of Vladivostok - or build your mighty empire across the steppes of southern Russia.

Players start in real-world locations; Moscow; St. Petersburg; Omsk; Khanty-Mansiysk; Tomsk; Yakutsk; Irkutsk; Vladivostok; Rostov; Nizhny Novgorod; Orsk and Krasnoyarsk.

Map is for up to 12 players.

*~*For those of you who want to start in a location other than Vladivostok*~*

There is a known bug with WorldBuilder maps that causes Random Player designations to fail, meaning that starting locations are entirely predictable (you'll know where England is simply by their order in the player list, for example). This means that you always start in the same location as well. THERE IS A FIX. It's a mod that you should use in conjunction with all WorldBuilder maps:
