Vermillion's Edge

Journal Entry #8: It's been days since my friend Vermillion and me have been stranded on this isle, luckily food supplies are anything but short. On the opposite end of the spectrum, however, we have found no suitable shelter. The structures above do not seem accessible from the ground, the only way up would be to climb... however neither of us have any experience in such department, to make things worse most of our equipment was lost in the crash.

Journal Entry #27: Weeks have passed since the crash, the good news is we've managed to build a shelter between ruin walls, the cave we were in was far too drafty and humid. The bad news, Vermillion is looking ill, most likely due to malnutrition... Food supplies may not be low, however there is no nutritional variety. I fear she may not make it in the coming days, the help sign we made of stones has not attracted any attention from any paserby ships. Also the constant howl caused by the wind passing through the ruins makes it impossible for them to hear us either... seems like hope is lost, we may not be rescued any time soon. I really hope Vermillion doesnt die on me, I've grown quite fond of her.

Journal Entry #32: Five days have passed and her fever has gone down, thankfully. Yesterday a ship had finally spotted us, but as they approached the isle their ship was blown apart by turrets on the towers above, they came crashing to the ground in a blazing fireball... No survivers. Although that may have been fortunate, among their wreckage I found a black flag. Pirates. Looks like fate was on our side for a change. On a side note ill use their supplies to build defenses inside our shelter.

Journal Entry #87: Months, and still no help... Vermillion has grown ill again, this time however I believe it to be the end for her. She's grown too weak and her fever too high. I think she's grown just as fond of me as I have of her... what a cruel fate for the both of us... tonight, ill tell her I love her, it may be my last chance. Words cannot describe my sorrow.

Journal Entry #89: She passed away last night, I'm all alone now. I'm... all alone. I couldnt tell her, I should have... Now it's too late. I've decided to bury her near the peak of this forsaken isle, even if it kills me.

Journal Entry #90: I've decided to name this island. Figured since no one else will, I might aswell. I'll name it after her... looking out at the sunset, I know it has to be. She used to say the sunset here was so beautiful, she'd stay up every evening to watch it. The night she died, I watched it go down with her. Now she's all I'll ever think about when I see the sunset. Vermillion's Edge, yeah, I hearby dub this island... Vermillion's Edge. May you rest in peace, I love you Vermillion.
