Honestly he wasnt bad before he got to Texas either. He worked for Don Owen up in Oregon as Ricky Vaughn and had a decent push. He could have been really good.

I was 11 years old when Lance appeared on the scene. Lance looked every bit what a Von Erich should have looked like and seemed like solid back-up considering Mike always seemed frail and goofy.... Yes, I cringe when I see the early matches now, but towards the end of his time with WCCW, Lance got a bit better....
