A WOTC compatible version of My Original Rank Mod

Completely Overhauled

*May or may not work without WOTC although it has been specifically made for WOTC.

Simply changes ranks to represent that of a Military Structure of what I perceive to be better :)

All associated text is also changed to represent new changes.

NEW: Now also includes CUSTOM CREATED RANK ICONS to match. See IMAGES for pics :)

Credits to Author of the Image Swapper mod. A great tool which allowed me to swap out the standard XCOM Ranks. :)

(0) - Recruit (Rk.)
(1) - Cadet (Cdt.)
(2) - Marine (Mne.)
(3) - Lance Corporal (LCpl.)
(4) - Corporal (Cpl.)

(6) - Staff Sergeant (SSgt.)
(7) - Sergeant Major (SM.)

the rank of brigadier hasn't been changed, not sure if that was intentional or not, but I find it funny that after sergeant major my soldiers are just immediately bumped into brigadier generals lmao

Seraph - its actually an easy fix. Go to the mod file location on your computer.

Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1130154571.

Open Up Localisation and open up XComGame in an editing tool.

Copy the below into the file underneath the line that says ShortNames[7]="Cmdr"

RankIcons[0]="UI_Library_Military_Ranks_K.Rank_CadetS_K"
RankIcons[1]="UI_Library_Military_Ranks_K.Rank_TrooperS_K"
RankIcons[2]="UI_Library_Military_Ranks_K.Rank_VeteranS_K"
RankIcons[3]="UI_Library_Military_Ranks_K.Rank_GuardS_K"
RankIcons[4]="UI_Library_Military_Ranks_K.Rank_SergeantS_K"
RankIcons[5]="UI_Library_Military_Ranks_K.Rank_LieutenantS_K"
RankIcons[6]="UI_Library_Military_Ranks_K.Rank_CaptainS_K"
RankIcons[7]="UI_Library_Military_Ranks_K.Rank_CommanderS_K"

Click Save and you should be done.

The above seems have (assume accidentally) been deleted from the file.

Similarly, if you like the rank images from any of these you can move them around as desired by calling it like the above :)

In my game, the Skirmisher rank icons have been changed to the custom soldier icons instead of the custom Skirmisher ones. Anyone know why this is?

It works with custom classes unless they have specified their own internal overrides.

@Microsoft Word - I will have a look at re-enabling however if you want to do yourself you can find the files in

Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1130154571.

Look for the localisation file and you can tweak till your heart is content :)

Hey, love the concept of this mod. Now that the WOTC Leader pack is out, do you know if you'll re-enable the officer ranks? If not, mind pointing me in the direction of the files I'll have to tweak to put them back myself (for my own use of course, not re-uploading the mod)? I understand you're not modding a whole lot these days but any help would be appeciated. Thanks!
