Kumo 1

KUMO 1 is a light mech with excellent mobility. It should fit the scout role well, crossing difficult terrain and surveying the land for ore, wreckages or enemies. Slots are provided for a different, more aggressive loadout.

Upgrading and miniaturizing the Hachikoma V3 chassis, I’ve ended up with this fun to drive mech. I've kept the tested omni-directional drive and further upgraded the handling. Its main feature is a new, detachable cabin, transforming it into an agile flyer.



To drive it, hop into the seat and use the REMOTE CONTROL.

To transform into a flyer – press 1 to activate the main thruster.

Then press 5 to detach the central rotor,

To re-attach to the lower chassis, press 7. (remember to switch off the main thruster)

To use the Autopilot mode, just set some waypoints and activate the Autopilot, located under remote control.

By default, Kumo is fitted for a scouting role, but you can add weapons or other mission-based instruments on the small wings in the back without upsetting the balance of the craft.

Although it appears to have many rotors, all but one of them are safety locked. The alignment of “legs” allows for a fine grip over any surface. I wanted to add more than just good mobility to this build, so I’ve spent a week creating the “flyer” segment, testing and balancing it. I hope you will appreciate the effort and that it will inspire some of your builds.
