VL22 is a Soviet electric DC locomotive for passenger and freight trains. VL means Vladimir Lenin, and 22 means axle load 22 tons.
VL22M is a Soviet electric DC locomotive for passenger and freight trains. This is modification of VL22 with more powerful engines. VL22M is the first soviet mass produced electric locomotive and also the last of those created specially for the Surami Pass railroad.
