The nickname comes from an in-joke between a friend about how Black Dog's name is pronounced for a vast majority of the movie.

In another time, another galaxy far beyond our own, there is a ragtag band of space pirates in pursuit of a place of legend known as the Treasure Planet. Amidst their escapades, one of the most vigilant of the lot, Black Dog, enters a wormhole through a freak accident with his ship, and sends him plummeting into a world host to the Fire Pro wrestling series. Black Dog will have to fight to survive if he ever wishes to return to his own time, for these creatures do not come in peace.
