Latest Update
- Fixed my dumb mistake. Beta Strike should now absolutely work 100%, I've double checked and I did it when I was actually properly awake.

Implements one of the upcoming second wave options now, as a mod. This doubles the HP of any relevant units.


Currently only affects active combat units (soldiers, and the ayys you fight against), VIPs, civilians, mimic beacons, and other things remain unchanged.

Note: since this works via template edits, this won't retroactively change soldiers who were already made, nor aliens if you decide to load this in a tactical save.

@Raz415 TLDR: doubles hp of most units, both yours and the enemy's.

XCOM EU had "Second Wave" options that unlocked after you beat the game once (some harder ones were locked behind higher difficulties). These options would change part of the game, and you could enable as many or as few of them as you wished. They options could do things like increase the randomness of weapon damage, soldiers stats, or even promotion abilities. There were also things like Aiming Angles, Red Fog (debuffs damaged soldiers), Marathon (longer game) E-115 (Lose elerium over time), or Itchy Trigger Tentacle (some enemies attack you on sight).

XCOM 2 didn't have these. But WOTC added some Advanced options to the game, which many call Second Wave options due to the similarity. One of these Advanced options was Beta Strike, which doubles the HP of almost all units (and also increased mission timers by 50% to make up for it).

For me, currently: only does anything on veteran, and on veteran it makes them have roughly 64 health. Using LW2 and various other mods.
