描述
Very simple addon that shows you every render step. I used it to find out when default chat and hud drawing, maybe it will be helpful for you.

Usage
Write in the console
rendersteps <delay>

Images will be saved in data/rendersteps folder

what does this actually do

my fps is capped to 80.when i uncap it,i get 250 fps in stock maps and around 80 in maps with a lot of npcs
in multiplayer,i get almost 300 fps

gmod has a few commands to improve fps. found in the July 2016 Update on news tab.

ikr? gmod 12 had such a good fps but now it's fucked.

the frame rate in gmod is horridly awful, and garry dont do anything to fix this, leading to this, and even so it still dont help, real sad
