Play as Barney Calhoun, the mild mannered security guard of black mesa, as you duck and dodge your way out of Black Mesa and the Xen, through all adversity, with the determined valor of getting Doctor Freeman that beer you owe him.

Gearbox set out to do what with Opposing Force and Blue Shift, what your childhood mind did with Reservoir Dogs; fill in and flesh out the parallel stories.

Opposing Force puts you in the shoes of Colonel Shepherd, a soldier brought in as on of the military grunts to cover up the black mesa incident. But lo and behold as similar to how Gordon Freeman's regular day suddenly changed pace, Shepherds duties of covering up and cleaning up the incident at Black Mesa goes off the deep end with the introduction of a separate Black Ops task force to cover up the military clean up as well as the beginning Alien invasion of the Seven hour war.

An amazing game that expands upon the arsenal of weapons given in Half Life to allow you the most diverse gunplay in the franchise. The Gold Source engine's polish is paramount in this installation.
