This game scratches that Bayonette itch. Great graphics, great character design, great enemies and combat, amazing soundtrack and a story that gets you hooked. 10/10

Howdy, now listen.

I have played lots of Battlefield 4 HC, Battlefield One HC, Hell let Loose and other shooters. Believe me, none of those games can reach Hunt Showdown.

The guns are really fun to play, the game looks honestly amazing, the fights are crazy, the sound stage is probably even better than in Hell let Loose. And if you are turned off by the extraction part, just as I was in the beginning, let me tell you this; Hunt is an extraction shooter, yes, but the extraction part is not as annoying as you imagine it to be like e.g. in Tarkov.

Imagine you are fighting a team that is hiding in a barn. Sounds boring to you? Bro, the fights in this game are the most intense stuff you will ever feel in any shooter. One wrong move gives away your position. What was that sound in the far distance? Birds in the sky? Is something coming from behind us as well? *stick breaking in the distance* ♥♥♥♥, just 4 bullets left in my Mosin rifle. Traps everywhere, one wrong move and you will catch a bullet with your face.

I can absolutely 100% recommend this game to anyone who enjoys a shooter where the players are not bullet sponges. It's probably the most underrated shooter on steam to be honest. And the dark setting of this game is chefs kiss on top of everything.

10/10 - Recommend, would 100% buy again.

P.S.: You can also play as a grandma. Yes, grannies with shotguns. Now shut up and buy it, go.

Update June 2025:
Crytek just pushed a fat update out and they definitely cooked. 100% recommend, 10/10.

I tried playing this on 1440p and then refunded the game. Everything is so small that I have troubles reading it. When I use the UI scaling option, all the text becomes blurry and reading the text becomes even more difficult. Now I am playing CIV ;)
