Shropshire, United Kingdom (Great Britain)
I've actually asked for the thread to be re-opened so I can post the ending summary in there too, I added a little more detail because Steam was awkward to communicate it on. Thanks for your message and compliments. I want to write something for Shogun 2, but i dont want to start it until I can be sure I can finish it.
Bauer finds a resigned Frederick, who has been increasingly tortured by the guilt of what transpired, both in the Mercenary Regiment and in Mecklenburg. (Of course, Frederick was not as guilty of the Betschart regiment's behaviour as both Bauer and his now dead friend Lenz thought he was, it was to be revealed Fred did all he could to stop the sacking). Bauer kills Frederick, because he has come so far to do so, but he is suddenly not so convinced that Frederick needed to die.
Next thing Bauer knows, he is attacked by the German-speaking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and blacks out.
- The Maw: The war with Austria for ultimate control of the 'Holy Roman Empire' begins and some large battles are fought.
- Safe haven for a rebel: Bauer and Fredericks showdown
- Crown on the Ground: Bauers execution, Johann is the de-facto ruler of the mighty Hessian Kingdom, ruling through a puppet parliament and King, and is sure the war against Austria is turning to his benefit. But he questions all it has cost him, notably the woman he loved. His plan was to 'retire' with his cousin Frederick in search of his love. Leaving the trusty Adolf Bodmer as First Lord in his absence, but after what has happened none of this is now possible - Bodmer remains in the coma. The 'Crown on the ground' is metaphorical for Johann disgarding it, but in reality he has little choice. Britain prepares for war, afraid of the Hessians holding too much power over the European Continent, thus Johann winds up a direct parralel to Napoleon himself.
- The end.
Gotta say, thanks a lot for showing some support. Nothing better than hearing someone enjoyed my writing, especially unfinished.
I'll post the end summary now, but it's quite wordy Steam is going to make me split it up. I'll post them in reverse order so you can read down the page instead of up!
