I hadn't thought to add more to Camilla's story. And I left Marschall Lins the spy out there alive too. France was still knocking around but pretty much irrelevant, it's strength and wealth entirely gone. I have a lot more fun writing the intrigue and crafting a story around the gameplay than I do retelling the battles so that's good to hear.

I've actually asked for the thread to be re-opened so I can post the ending summary in there too, I added a little more detail because Steam was awkward to communicate it on. Thanks for your message and compliments. I want to write something for Shogun 2, but i dont want to start it until I can be sure I can finish it.

Well now Im really upset that this story didnt finish! Ah well at least my soul is at rest. Quick question though, did you ever decide what would happen to Camilla? (Would the baby be born safe, would it be healthy, boy or girl that type of stuff) I found your aar by happy coincidence. I was looking up napoleon aar, and after skipping all the incomplete ones and the poorly written ones, I came upon yours. I was immedietly hooked, just because your aar had a story of its own, rather than just being one loong battle report. Anyway, I love that final note with johan becoming napoleon. Was france destroyed? If it was, i can almost imagine a drunken, rugged scrufy looking napoleon stumbling into haas office with a gun for one last attenpt at revenge. All in all, i think your writing is fantastic and your own stories are incredibly gripping. At times the intrigue almost felt like a napoleonic game of thrones. If you ever decide to write again, Ill definitely eat it up.

To keep it (relatively!) short: Bauer had contracted Hypothermia during his relentless tracking down of Frederick in the winter wilderness. He discovers the location of Frederick thanks to some strange German-speaking '♥♥♥♥♥♥♥' at an inn (the very same ones who would go quiet and Frederick himself mentioned a few times in his chapters).
Bauer finds a resigned Frederick, who has been increasingly tortured by the guilt of what transpired, both in the Mercenary Regiment and in Mecklenburg. (Of course, Frederick was not as guilty of the Betschart regiment's behaviour as both Bauer and his now dead friend Lenz thought he was, it was to be revealed Fred did all he could to stop the sacking). Bauer kills Frederick, because he has come so far to do so, but he is suddenly not so convinced that Frederick needed to die.
Next thing Bauer knows, he is attacked by the German-speaking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and blacks out.

When he wakes up, he is in Copenhagen. And although seriously ill thanks to the Hyperthermia, he is marched out and executed by firing squad on the orders of a dejected Johann Haas. It's revealed the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ were Germans who Johann had sent to watch over his cousin, hence them camping very close to his cabin. They let him down though, drinking in the inn thus allowing Bauer to slip past.

The last three chapters would've roughly gone:
- The Maw: The war with Austria for ultimate control of the 'Holy Roman Empire' begins and some large battles are fought.
- Safe haven for a rebel: Bauer and Fredericks showdown
- Crown on the Ground: Bauers execution, Johann is the de-facto ruler of the mighty Hessian Kingdom, ruling through a puppet parliament and King, and is sure the war against Austria is turning to his benefit. But he questions all it has cost him, notably the woman he loved. His plan was to 'retire' with his cousin Frederick in search of his love. Leaving the trusty Adolf Bodmer as First Lord in his absence, but after what has happened none of this is now possible - Bodmer remains in the coma. The 'Crown on the ground' is metaphorical for Johann disgarding it, but in reality he has little choice. Britain prepares for war, afraid of the Hessians holding too much power over the European Continent, thus Johann winds up a direct parralel to Napoleon himself.
- The end.

Oh cool. How did you stumble on an AAR from 2 years ago then?
Gotta say, thanks a lot for showing some support. Nothing better than hearing someone enjoyed my writing, especially unfinished.
I'll post the end summary now, but it's quite wordy Steam is going to make me split it up. I'll post them in reverse order so you can read down the page instead of up!
