This franchise will forever hold a special place in my heart, the story although not the best from the franchise it was a vital revival by namco, these games have always shared the same message when you travel through the endless skies.
And oh my god the soundtrack in all the ACE COMBAT franchise is beautiful please listen to it,

Honestly coming back to this game after a couple of years really made me think and realize "we had it way better before" not critisicing any new game, however the fact that "Racing" games have now been watered down to, open world "festival" (does not feel like one at all) or just go to the other extreme with Sim racing, i feel like we've lost that in-between of using racing games as a way to do storytelling, and yeah grid 2 isnt really the best example, but something as simple as a rise to fame story is something that you just dont even see on modern games, so i just hope that racing games in the coming years can help us in that regard, i dont care what franchise does it.
