If you can make it past the hundreds of hours of mandatory Main Story quests it's actually a very solid MMO. It has been getting increasingly more well polished and it's incredibly friendly, no senseless grinds and utter RNG nonsense. Endgame content is very challenging (Extreme Trials and Savage Raids) while also being friendly to newcomers, most fights have groups progressing on or people willing to help/explain. If you enjoy the anime-like story then you'll have a blast; I personally don't mind it, it's not horrible but hardly something that keeps me hooked.

The Free Trial is very inclusive and really only lacks access to endgame content, otherwise you get to experience multiple classes and multiple types of content, along hundreds of hours of Main Quest and tons of sidequests.
