It's very good. It's psycho good with mods. It's best with friends.

Choosing cultures isn't as interesting as it could be, since they're all just bonuses and no drawbacks. Besides those bonuses, no culture really feels different from any other in my experience. It's also been out for almost a year now but I'm still running into games being ruined by the endless end-turn timer bug.

I wish cultures were more extreme like the differences in races in Endless Legends, too.

Update: Every game I try to play of Humankind ends up in an endless turn bug. I give up on this game. Do not buy.

New Bolivar patch update: Endless turn bug on turn 10. I came crawling back to see if the new update had fixed it but no, of course not. It's worse than ever!

The roguelite progression is too limited for my taste.

Very short, but very nice, very cute. I ran into a couple of instances where the rules for item placement were a little strange (like not being allowed to put bug spray on a shelf out of reach of children, because I guess it belongs beneath the sink???) but no actual real annoyances or problems. Just kinda chill.

The game is actually really good and the devs seem both nice and generous. I'd never play it without a friend or two but that's not really a surprise, right? It's a co-operative multiplayer game! Real good I love it.

Feels like the first chapter of a bigger story, and so the end is unsatisfying. Way too short.

It's a buggy mess, but it's so full of heart and wonderful stories and characters. I love it genuinely and unironically. GOTY for me, 2020.
