This game has a strong survival core, but constant technical and design friction makes it hard to recommend. Instead of fighting zombies or hunger, you are mostly fighting the game itself. Character positioning is awkward, the cursor feels useless for interaction, controllers are clunky and managing your inventory/crafting is boring.

Exploration is good but lacks any real reward. Finding unique locations often leads to nothing, and the quest system remains a basic loop of repetitive fetch tasks. This frustration starts immediately with a buggy tutorial that forces wasteful workarounds, ruining the first impression before the game even begins.

While the atmosphere shows genuine passion, the 1.0 release feels unfinished.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is genuinely an amazing game. I loved it way more than I expected. The quests are fun, the progression feels great, and there’s a constant sense of discovery that keeps you hooked. Building, exploring, helping NPCs, it all clicks really well, and I was having a blast for a few hours.

And then I hit the Noticeboard.

That thing is flooded with porn and hentai images. Not suggestive. Not borderline. Straight-up explicit content. You don’t even need to open the board to see it, it’s right there in the open world. It completely breaks the tone of the game, especially for something with Dragon Quest branding and such strong kids appeal.

There is zero reason for this UGC feature to exist, and even less reason for it to still be online if it can’t be moderated properly. These online services should honestly be shut down at this point. Could I play without placing the board in the world? Sure. But should we really accept this kind of content being propagated by stupid players in a game like this?

It’s a real shame, because up until that moment, I was loving every second of the game.

Huge thanks to Steam, though. They were very understanding and allowed me a refund. I really wish this game didn’t shoot itself in the foot with such a baffling design decision.

I was having a lot of fun with this, until a bug soft lock the game for me. I had to repair a car and it showed "Find and fix pipe leaks 0/0", with no leaks to find or fix and it didn't let me advance the quest. Shame, I was really enjoying it.

Against the Storm has this unmistakable vibe that instantly reminded me of early-2000s strategy games, the kind that mixed charm, bold ideas, and a ton of personality. That style hit me right in the nostalgia, but with a modern twist that genuinely surprised me. The “roguelite city-builder” concept works way better than it sounds. Splitting what would normally be a long RTS session into smaller, meaningful runs is honestly brilliant. It keeps every settlement fresh, avoids the usual mid-game drag, and gives you that “one more cycle” feeling constantly.

I also love the characters and tribes, their little quirks, needs, and strengths. And the events? Great design choices all around with the "fog of war" mechanic adding some tension to it. There's a lot of replayability here.

I’ve been hopping in and out of it in small batches ever since the first release, and I still love it every time. Highly recommended.

Borderlands 2 has always been my favorite; tight, funny, memorable. I bounced off 3 pretty quick, it just didn’t land with me. So I honestly wasn’t planning to play Borderlands 4 at all. Too much hate around it, and I assumed it was more of the same.

I was wrong.

This game is incredible. Everything flows so well, the pace, the combat, the way you traverse through the world. It’s full of content, but never feels bloated. The quests are fun, the narrative is sharp, and most of the characters are actually interesting (except the one you meet at the very beginning, can’t stand that guy).

Performance has been flawless for me. Running 350fps on a 5080, only one crash in10+ hours and I lost nothing. Just restarted and kept going.

The best part? It finally scratched that itch I’ve had for a long time, a good open world co-op game where I can jump in, with or without friends, play for an hour or two, and still feel like I accomplished something. And somehow, it even made me put down Silksong, which is wild.

I didn’t think Borderlands 4 would win me over, but it completely did. It’s the most complete, confident game in the series and honestly, probably my favorite now.

The world-building in Nightingale is absolutely fantastic. From day one, I was pulled in by its atmosphere, lore, and the way the realms are crafted. Exploring and discovering new places was always a joy, and that alone kept me invested for a long time.

But the server situation has been a complete mess since launch. At first, the centralized server approach (almost like an MMO) worked well enough, things felt stable and it was easy to just jump in with friends. Unfortunately, the last major update completely broke that experience. Playing with others went from smooth to frustrating, a cash grabber solution with server renting and honestly, it’s not worth the effort anymore.

Because of that, I’ve lost my interest. It’s a shame, because I really enjoyed the game, but the servers never got solved, and that makes it hard to recommend right now.

UPDATE: A month after the initial release and 21 hours on record the experience has increased a lot. The Vulkan renderer is still messy but the game works like a charm with DirectX. Most of the bugs I faced are now fixed and I can have a complete run without crashing - yaay! The game is fun and a very good definition of emergent gameplay and narrative. I do recommend it this time!

PEAK has one of the most innovative co-op ideas I’ve seen in a while. I love how it uses spatial and modified sound for communication, and the helping hand mechanic is brilliant. The daily maps keep me coming back — it’s become part of my daily routine. However, I have only 3.5 hours on record, because every single run has had a moment where I thought, “oh no, the game is broken.” I’ve seen items vanish into the environment, the hand mechanic misbehave, sound cues go wrong, and voice comms fall apart — especially with 4 players. Lately, it's even crashing on boot or when I ALT+Tab to do something simple like sharing a screenshot. For the past two days, it’s been completely unplayable. I love this game, but it really feels like it was rushed out to hit KPIs instead of being ready.

The premise here is amazing, there's a lot of Lovecraftian/Arkham Horror vibes on it, but the experience is truncated by the clunky interface and huge amount of bugs. Tension that shouldn't decay keeps decaying, unlocked cards never show up, there's no summary at the end of a run. Despite that I found the game very well balanced and the content sufficient for a few hours of gameplay. Will definitely change this review to Positive after some issues are addressed.

There's nothing like diving into a new Civ game. Civilization VII is absolutely gorgeous, and while it has its downsides, I’ve been glued to it already. Played with different civs, and each one actually feels different—definitely a win there.

It’s probably the most casual-friendly Civ yet, which might ruffle some feathers, but honestly? It plays smooth as hell, and it runs beautifully on the Steam Deck. Sure, there’s room for improvement (as always), but this is already a fantastic base to build on. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.
