I was once extremely tempted to purchase an, at the time, 100$ code for this game. Decided I couldn't justify giving a scalper the satisfaction just for a few rare cosmetics.
Now... I'm sure those vendors are stewing in their lost bets. Hehe.

They removed the option to lock the ui button scheme, so playing handheld on Steam Deck with gyro is basically a bust- which sucks, I was having fun with it, but having to be locked into controller against the 'mouse and keyboard' queue has just sucked. Don't play handheld on deck.

Highly, highly recommend this game if you're a creative type, or gay/queer (broadly speaking). And even if you're not! There's lots of eloquent messaging on love, censorship, community... lots of things that feel especially pointed, given our world of late. It's a beautiful exploration, through plenty of equally beautiful characters- I can't recommend it enough as a story.
(...though, what's up with those omnipresent, eerie rabbits..?)

Not too complex of an RTS, so if you haven't played any other games of the genre (or any other halo game, for that matter), you won't get too lost. I mean, I put an entire summer into this game as a kid, so it can't be too difficult lmao

I honestly doubt there's much new I could add to the mountain of praise the game deserves, because it really does- the game holds up well even these many years later, and is worth at least one playthrough in one's lifetime.
The most I'll add is just, for anyone new coming in blind- no, you don't need to have played Portal or the Half-Life series to understand the story and what's going on in Portal 2. It is a sequel, and certain references and connections will make more sense if you've played those games, but Portal 2 gives enough context and is a puzzle game enough that you don't need that context in order to play and enjoy the game.
So play the game, hear the bits you can't help but quote, think with portals, and hope that GLaDOS's funny, rude voice doesn't awaken anything in y-
